Days are suited to both complete novices & experienced shots; its a great way to learn game shooting etiquette and field safety before venturing out in the game shooting season. It’s also a fantastic way to perfect your shooting technique before that first day on the feathery ones!
Prescott Shooting only uses manual clay traps to launch each clay giving an immense range of angles, speeds and trajectories simulating all types of game bird species. It is unlike many other simulated game shooting setups which use automatic launchers as it gives far less variation and clay speeds are far slower. By using manual traps, trap placements are constantly changing varying flushing points and being able to create both coveys of partridge to single eye squinting high pheasants! we guarantee you will never see the same clay flying in the same place! Thats what you go to a clay ground for!

The day begins with all the guns meeting at the estate where you will be invited in for tea & coffee and to meet the other guns. Breakfast will be served followed by the shoot captain giving a safety brief and carrying out a peg draw.
After a full kit check all guns will be driven to the first drive where the guns will be shown to their pegs. The drive is then started and finished by a whistle.
At the end of each drive the guns meet back at the vehicles and travel to the next drive on a different part of the estate.
After the second drive the guns meet at the vehicles for traditional elevenses where drinks and snacks are served.
The guns then shoot the third drive and meet back at the shoot room for a traditional shoot lunch and wines. When lunch is finished the remaining drives are then completed. An array of different quarry will be simulated from coveys of partridge, eye squinting high pheasants to looping pigeons and curling woodcock. At the end of the last drive the guns return to the shoot room for refreshments and to discuss their experiences of the day. Prizes are presented either to the winning team and or individuals.
The atmosphere of the day is guaranteed to be very relaxed and enjoyable but at the same time organised to the very highest of standards so tailoring each day to suit the needs of each client.
Novice guns can be catered for under the guidance of our instructors from our shooting school. Cartridges and guns can also be provided.
Simulated Game Days
What is a simulated Game Day?
A simulated game day is almost exactly the same as a traditional driven game day but substituting game birds for clay pigeons. The clays are thrown by a number of manual traps that are located in front of the gun line out of sight. You are guaranteed to shoot hundreds of cartridges at thousands of clays throughout the day and only costing a fraction of the price compared to an identical real game day.
Simulated Game Days are also a great follow on from clay shooting at a shooting ground as it gives a whole new aspect on clay shooting crossing over to traditional british game shooting etiquette where you will experience shooting on some stunning Cotswold sporting estates.
Also if you are looking for something different for corporate entertainment simulated game days are a truly fantastic way to entertain! It is also a great way to introduce and train clients that may be invited on a real driven game day later in the year.
Simulated days are run at our spectacular venue at Postlip Hall Farm near Cheltenham
